Welcome to The Horse Association of Kenya

Horse Association of Kenya

Welcome to our website, whether you are a present, new or prospective member.

The Horse Association of Kenya (HAK) was created in 1987 through the amalgamation of the Horse Society of Kenya (HSK) and the Show Jumping Association of Kenya (SJAK).

HAK covers showing, dressage, show jumping and cross country eventing, and is a purely amateur association run by volunteers, but it inevitably has rules and a management and technical system. Please do not be put off by “rules and regulations”, and do not be afraid to ask should you not understand.

Likewise, please do not be shy when and if asked to help at shows and other activities – it all adds up to further understanding and enjoyment of our sport; all contributions are gratefully received and acknowledged!

HAK is a member of FEI Group 9 (African South of the Sahara), from which members gain international exposure to all equestrian disciplines, including show jumping and dressage competitions held on our home ground but competing against other countries on their home grounds.

The HAK office is located above Karen Provision Store in the Karen Shopping Centre, and is open Monday to Friday, 9am-12pm and 2pm - 5pm.

We hope you enjoy our website and find it informative and useful.

Come join in the fun!

The HAK promotes and organises equestrian events and competitions across Kenya. Joining such an association allows you to form lasting friendships and develop strong riding skills. We centre around fun, friendly, family-orientated fun and love having new members get involved.

We would love to hear from you, please feel free to get in touch!
